Aidan grew up in Limerick, Ireland and undertook his undergraduate studies in Chemistry of Pharmaceutical Compounds at University College Cork (UCC). He then remained at UCC for his PhD studies, where he worked on H-phosphonate-enabled deoxygenative functionalisations of alcohols under the joint supervision of Dr Peter Byrne and Dr Gerard McGlacken. Aidan joined the Schoenebeck group as a postdoctoral researcher in October 2024.
