Francesco was born in Bergamo, Italy and studied chemistry at the University of Milan. During his BSc and MSc theses in the group of Prof. Maurizio Benaglia he focused on catalytic applications of chiral phosphoric acids. During his MSc studies he also took part in the VIRTCHEM project (VIRtual Immersive Education for CHEMistry and Chemical Engineering) on the use of virtual reality in the field of chemistry. Francesco joined the Schoenebeck group for his PhD in December 2023.
