Jegor was born in Newinnomyssk, Russia and moved later to Germany. He undertook his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the RWTH Aachen University. During his master studies he did an industrial internship at the high throughput experimentation company (hte) in Heidelberg. Jegor joined the Schoenebeck group for his master thesis in which he focused on the cross-coupling via Pd(I)-dimer, before starting his PhD in 2023.
