Teresa Karl

Teresa was born in Essen, raised in Moers and studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University, where she conducted research under the supervision of Prof. Franziska Schoenebeck in the area of Pd-catalysis for her bachelor’s thesis. During her master’s degree, she undertook research in computational homogeneous catalysis under the supervision of Prof. Walter Leitner and joined Prof. John A. Murphy’s group at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow for the investigation of transition-metal-free cross coupling reactions promoted by organic super electron donors. For her master’s thesis, she worked on the Late-Stage Heteroarylation of (Hetero)aryl sulfonium salts under the supervision of Prof. Tobias Ritter at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. In February 2021, Teresa returned to the Schoenebeck group for her doctoral studies.
